About the EcoLingua Curriculum Project
The EcoLingua Curriculum: Digitally Enhanced Pedagogy for Integrating Environmental Issues into Language Teaching is an Erasmus+ project co-funded by the European Union, designed to bridge language education and environmental awareness. This two-year initiative aims to empower educators and engage students by embedding ecological, climate, and sustainability topics within foreign language curricula. EcoLingua not only promotes language proficiency but also cultivates global citizenship and environmental stewardship among students.
Our project tackles crucial priorities: addressing climate change, supporting teaching professions, and developing key competencies. By harnessing digital tools and gamification, EcoLingua provides innovative, interactive resources for language learning, including a digital toolkit, educational modules, gamified activities, and multimedia lessons. Each component is crafted to make environmental education accessible, engaging, and impactful in language classrooms.
EcoLingua brings together a consortium of experienced educational institutions across Europe, including Balıkesir University, Vilnius University, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, the University of Burgos, Gaziantep University, and Özlük Rasim Özdenören Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi. This partnership enables us to combine expertise in foreign language education, digital innovation, and environmental studies, enhancing both teacher training and student engagement across diverse educational settings.
Through the EcoLingua Curriculum, we aim to create lasting educational change by equipping learners not only with language skills but also with the knowledge and motivation to participate in global sustainability efforts. Join us in transforming language education for a more sustainable future.
