The EcoLingua Curriculum: Digitally Enhanced Pedagogy for Integrating Environmental Issues into Language Teaching officially started with a successful kick-off meeting on 17 February 2025. With the participation of esteemed partners from Lithuania, Italy, Spain and Turkey, the main objectives of the project and the strategies to be implemented were discussed. The project aims to integrate ecological awareness into EFL curricula and support it through digital innovation and gamified learning methods.
EcoLingua Project is coordinated by Balıkesir University within the scope of the 2024 Erasmus+ KA220 School Education Cooperation Partnerships call. The project, which was accepted as a result of the application, was entitled to receive a grant of € 250,000. The project is led by Dr. Mehmet Saraç from Necatibey Faculty of Education, Department of English Language Teaching, and the international partners are Gaziantep University, Bursa Özlüce Rasim Özdenören Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, Vilnius University (Lithuania), University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy) and University of Burgos (Spain).
